I joined a number of gyms over the years in my quest to lose weight, but between my job and the dramatic lifestyle change that came with being a mom, making the commitment was tough. I didn’t always have the energy or the willpower to make the gym a priority. And of course most of us don’t really like going to the gym—especially when we’re overweight.
I finally found a personal trainer who really understood what I needed and knew how to motivate and inspire me. The work I did with him definitely improved my health, but my diabetes was still a problem, and I still couldn’t get down to a healthy weight. He has been incredibly supportive over the years, and has continued to work with me through every stage of my journey.
FABS Fitness Program.
Anyone who’s been through weight loss surgery knows it’s not some quick fix or miracle cure. The pounds don’t magically disappear. Getting rid of your excess fat still takes a lot of hard work and dedication.
There are a lot of unique challenges that come with a post-bari body, but my trainer, Kevin, knew just what I needed. He worked with me to create a low impact routine I could do at home. I could exercise on my time without having to drag myself to the gym. And I wouldn’t have to worry about what other people might think.
We started to call it FABS, which stands for Flexibility, Aerobics, Balance, and Strength, but it has another meaning too. It’s all about becoming your Fittest And Best Self!
FABS has been a FABulous way for me to lose weight, build muscle, achieve my health and fitness goals, and it can do the same for you!
